It’s not surprising that the idea for this website sprouted from the mind of a barbershop owner. Frustrated with all the everyday stressors of owning and managing two barbershops, I went in search of an answer. Disappointed by the outcome of my search, I decided to come up with my own solution: a social networking site for hair professionals.
While lying in bed one Saturday morning drained and worn out from a week of aggravation and stress stemming from careless and irresponsible employees, I searched for answers. Questioning my decision to make the switch from barber to shop owner I decided there had to be a better approach to dealing with all of these problems. Although I had no shortage of clientele, I was overwhelmed by a lack of dependable employees. How could I find quality, goal-oriented, and responsible technicians in such a difficult industry?
That is when the idea of Hair Unity was born. I wanted a way to unite all barbers, stylists, and business owners as well as vendors and clients. I desired a place where people in the hair industry could meet, search for work/employees, and develop relationships. My solution was a website that could help not only myself but also my fellow technicians and business owners. What better way for everyone in the industry to connect and share their ideas and experiences? Imagine a place we can all go to for solutions to our problems. We hope everyone enjoys our efforts and comes together on the Hair Unity website. We finally have our own “union”.
