We are all looking to grow our business, whether a barber, a shop owner, or anyone else with a business for that matter. One of the best, and most rewarding ways to grow any business is by helping out others in your community.

Community Service is an excellent way to promote the growth of your business. Not only will you draw in new clientele, get your name out there, and promote your business, but you will also get in touch with the heart of your community and establish your business as one of compassion and dignity.

Community service is about expressing to the community that your business still holds onto old fashioned values and that you care about each individual customer as a member of one giant family.

Justin’s Barbershop of Jackson, NJ recently held an event to raise money for a little girl named Baby Lucy in their community who was battling cancer; Hair Unity was there to document the occasion.

The main reason for this event was to join in one family’s fight against a deadly disease; however we at Hair Unity put together a quick presentation of the event for three reasons of our own.

  1. To document the great effort that everyone who was involved put forth.
  2. To do our part by spreading the word so that other people might see the video and join in by donating money to the cause.
  3. To exhibit how giving back to your community can generate new clientele and help your business grow.

The event was broadcasted on the radio, and news articles were posted in the local paper and online; an excellent way to reach out to more people who may be unaware of your shop or salon.

The people running the event handled all the advertising which, as I’m sure all business owners know, is enough of a benefit in itself.

Another great advantage is that other vendors came out and joined in the cause, many of which purchased haircuts and may not only return as regular clients, but will most likely spread the word about the outstanding service they received to their customers.

In conclusion, the event for Baby Lucy was a huge success for her family as well as for Justin’s Barbershop. Giving back to the community serves as an exemplary advantage to any business, and we at Hair Unity recommend it highly as a means to help others, cultivate the reputation of your business, and generate a stronger clientele base.
